ipsy (referral link) has a new referral program that rolled out today called ipsyPoints! When you visit ipsy now, as a subscriber, there is a new tab at the top labeled ipsyPoints with your unique referral url to share.
While supplies last, the two possible bonus items you could receive for referring two people are an Urban Decay Moondust eye shadow or a BaubleBar wrap bracelet. If you refer two before May 1st, one of these items would be in your May bag (chosen randomly).
New bonus items will be added when supplies run out every month.
Unfortunately, past referrals are not tracked and at this moment, there are no actual “points” to be earned. More information on ipsy’s Q&A!
Anyways, I’m excited about May’s ipsy bag, which would be including a gorgeous Zoya sping pastel polish! Sign up soon if you want to be on a list to receive ipsy bags (possibly starting with May).

Blush.com/Dermstore/Hairenvy are the web stores featuring a newer subscription beauty box that includes a mix of full-size and travel size sample items. The box itself will be worth over $100 every month.
The products range from cosmetic items, hair products, and skin care products and the cost for a monthly box is $24.95 or a one time box for $34.95
Two days after ordering, my box arrived. I was quite pleased with Blush’s fast shipping, but the box’s presentation could be improved. Instead of being in a box with nice packaging, like Birchbox or Glossybox, there was a big, black ziplock bag with items just tossed in and a free gift with purchase on the outside of the bag. Also, there was no card or insert included describing the items received or how to use them.
What was inside the box then?
Tendu Ultimate Hair Conditioning Treatment Mask / Full Size $60
Vichy Eau Thermal / Full Size $12
SkinCeuticals Micro Exfoliating Scrub .25 oz *Gift with purchase
Obagi Nu-derm Foaming Gel / Sample Value $12
SkinMedica Ultra Sheer Moisturizer / Sample Value $6.50
Make-up Designory Eye Pencil in Black / Full size $13
Paula Dorf Lip Liner in Sultry / Full size $20
Total Value: $123.50
I’ve seen other reviews with box variations; some boxes have had a blush, dry shampoo, and serum. Preview on my items received below.
I unsubscribed from Glossybox for April, but there is a special limited Mother’s Day Box curated with BeautyBlitz for sale. $30 gets you a full-sized essie polish and other deluxe sized samples including a
Benetint and an Estee Lauder mascara. (Edit: April 24 / Box contents have changed! No more Benetint… ) It seems like an okay deal if you’re interested in the products, but it doesn’t seem like it should be more than the regular $21 Glossybox price. For that price + a little bit more, I would rather get Allure’s summer box (on sale Tuesday April 23)!
Allure’s Summer Essentials Beauty Box. Spoilers below!
For $39.99 + $10 shipping, you get 25 items with the value over $250.

I can’t wait! It looks like a great deal. Not a lot of makeup products, but tons of hair and skin care.
I decided to skip February’s Glossybox since there was nothing in it I was looking forward to… but March’s Glossybox looked interesting and worth a try. I was hoping things would be better than the way February’s box looked.
The theme this month was “Spring Fling” and had products for renewing yourself after the cold of winter. All the items arrived in Glossybox’s usual light pink box and had a very girly feel this month with all its pink color.
Hi all! It’s the end of the month which means, yes, the two main subscription beauty boxes should be revealing April’s upcoming box spoilers. March’s bag arrived in the middle of March, just in time for spring! March’s theme for ipsy is “The Great Escape” which focuses on travel/spring break. For the price of $10, what all did ipsy-ers get this month?
For this February 2013 ipsy “glam bag”, the theme this month was “Red Carpet Ready”! Kinda appropriate this month due to all the star-studded award shows that had aired on television and hopefully, according to ipsy, these products will get you ready for the lights, cameras, and action of the season. More inside!
Earlier this February, I took advantage of Julep‘s offer for a free starter box with the code ‘FREEMAVEN’. (I don’t know if it still works or not.) Well, the only thing you had to pay was the $3.99 shipping and handling which still made it a good deal. I normally wouldn’t pay $20 a month for a box of just nail polishes and hand creams, but I do love having the option to skip a month, if needed.
