Two Cosmetics Daily Palette review

2013-02-25-twocosmetics

I was surprised to check my mailbox late last week to find a package from Two Cosmetics with the Daily Palette I had ordered just a couple of days ago. So props to the company for their great shipping times! Along with the order, I also picked up two gel liners (review coming soon!) and was happy to see that they had also added in a free gel liner brush with the order. That’s just really awesome of Two Cosmetics! Read on for my first impressions of The Daily Palette.

Julep It Girl Starter Box

20130214_julepitgirl

Earlier this February, I took advantage of Julep‘s offer for a free starter box with the code ‘FREEMAVEN’. (I don’t know if it still works or not.) Well, the only thing you had to pay was the $3.99 shipping and handling which still made it a good deal. I normally wouldn’t pay $20 a month for a box of just nail polishes and hand creams, but I do love having the option to skip a month, if needed.

Urban Decay Naked Palette Dupe! (Two Cosmetics)

ImagePicture via Two Cosmetics

Just browsing my Youtube video feed, I came across a video showing a Urban Decay (original) Naked Palette dupe from a company called Two Cosmetics. The beauty vlogger saaammage gave a very good and detailed review here and overall, the colors in the Daily Palette from Two Cosmetics were about an 85% dupe-match from her.

I had to check out the Two Cosmetics shop and see what they were about and was happy to see that it was an independent company run by two sisters. Their motto on the site is “makeup with a cause.” For every item purchased, they donate an item to a nonprofit, which is something I definitely like.

With the discount code saaammage, you can get 30% off the price which is now around $23. This makes the palette under $20 and had free shipping too! Overall, if you’re looking for a neutral eye shadow palette almost like the Naked palette, right now, this would be a great one to pick up.

Looking up other blogger reviews, Two Cosmetics also has other good products too such as single eye shadows and gel eyeliners. Are you interested in this company or have you tried Two Cosmetics before? I’m interested in your feedback!

Subscription Box News + Glossybox spoiler?

Happy Sunday! With the winter blizzard in the Northeast, lots of boxes including Birchbox and ipsy have been delayed a bit for this month, but this does not stop all the news of spoilers for this month!

First, a special price for a nail art box called Nail Art Society. News via Nouveau Cheap. Use code PUREICE to pay $10 a month, a savings of 50%. I haven’t tried it before, but you can read a review from Polish Hound and see how it might fit for you.

Next, Glossybox spoilers/rumors are up. I’ve looked at it, but not much have interested me, so I’m glad I’ve cancelled for the month of February. Read below for possible spoilers…. *updated Feb 11 2013*

Glossybox USA January 2013

2013-02-10-manbox

January’s special Man Repeller box actually arrived in February for me, and one that I took a chance on. After debating whether to keep subscribing or to cancel for this month, I decided to say “Yes!” and gave Glossybox one more try. At $21 a month, Glossybox has a higher expectation to fulfill as a beauty box subscription service.

How did it go this month?

Influenster Voxbox – Palmolive Fresh Infusions

2013-02-02-soaps

As a box addict, I have recently heard about a program called Influenster that sends out boxes with various companies of sample items to try. Products in the past have included chocolates, books, and even beauty products. I signed up a little over a month ago and have found out I qualified to receive my first Voxbox of dish soaps. So a little earlier this year, my package arrived and this review includes my impressions of all of the scents. They look all pretty and colorful lined up like that, don’t they?

2013-02-02-lime

Lime Basil: My most favorite scent out of the three. Very citrus-y and refreshing.

2013-02-02-lemon

Lemon Thyme: Not bad, but it didn’t smell much different than any other lemon dish soap.

2013-02-02-ginger

Ginger White Tea: I didn’t sense much spicy ginger, but the product does have a nice floral smell which is not my favorite smell for “clean dishes”.

My favorite again was the Lime Basil, and it definitely was a winner in my household. I think I might try using these soaps to clean my makeup brushes and see how well they do!
